“A quick-moving comedy revolving around some colourful characters getting into situations of the fish-out-of-water variety that’s rather cleverly deployed. A light-footed directorial effort sure helps here, as does an ensemble cast to make this one fun movie indeed.“ —  Mike Haberfelner, — Search My Trash

Why not make a sci-fi rom-com with some twists mixed in? That was what filmmaker Richard Lerner had come up with this film, taking today’s trend of dating apps and adding a sci-fi edge to it with this wild indie ride of a film that earned many indie sci-fi awards as a result.  Intermate is a fun wild ride into the multiverse and parallel universe bringing dating to a whole new level …that proves you can mix sci-fi with any genre these days.  — World Film Geek

“ Intermate is heavily loaded with terms and phrases you might only hear at an astrophysics conference, or maybe in the parking lot after an early Grateful Dead concert, all centered around three young girl stuck on Earth working for an escort service. A light and breezy 90 minutes …this twisty adventure is a light comedy dressed up in academic level science that is nonetheless pretty entertaining.”  — THAT MOMENTIN

“A Corman meets Troma movie…there’s a real audience for this kinda stuff. Sexy sci-fi stuff that a teen can legally rent to get their kicks in both departments.“ — Scare Magazine

“I don’t really know what to say.I never write reviews.  This movie is nonsensical and out of this world weird but in such a fun way I just want to see more from whoever the hell put this thing together. If you are not hooked within the first 10 minutes give up, it’s not for you. If you are already into a bizzarro headtrip by them well enjoy the ride! It is perfect. “

“Well that was surprising solid”

“Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020

It is low budget, and it almost made me stop watching it in the first few minutes. But a few early concepts were funny and interesting so I wanted to see where things went. I am glad I stuck through because it ended up being a unique and enjoyable crazy sci-fi story.” —aluren

“Just Let It Happen”

“We’re familiar with this film makers other work, so we knew to expect camp. “Intermate” was hilariously absurd, the perfect wind-down after a long week, and laughing was the best medicine. It was fantastic to see everyone running around with their heads NOT cut off. Some of the one-liners are classic, and yeah, this is a cult-classic ready to be cultified!

“Intermate” is about fun, kicking back and riding the joystick, if you don’t mind I go full-80’s on ya. Just open your VR to all of it, B-campy and all. Ride this film bareback–I promise, it’s worth it. Let “Intermate” take you out of reality, and then the next reality, then the next one, the next, yes.”Intermate” will give your imagination–and suspension of disbelief–a well deserved, much needed poke.”  —JulieAnn Carter-Winward

• “Pure camp, pure fun, and attractive babes!  The biggest reason why it entertains is that it’s doesn’t take itself so seriously. Sundance won’t be calling but having watched some of these movies which practically are crap this one is fun to watch.”

 • “Clever twist on gaming culture for a generation that has squandered itts erotic energy in frpnt of the game console.

 • “Fun B-movie multiversal frolic. Intermate is a cute indie production that deftly mixes faux quantum physics, multiverse theory and a multi-orgasmic romp into a package that manages to deliver a number of laughs.”  — Troy Boulton

 • “Instant Cult Classic, where galactic pleasures are brought down to earth in the guise of a feminine triumvirate unlike any others. It’s fun and trippy in an old school way.  It feels like a cult classic even though it just came out!  — Teycbat

 • “Good FX for an independent film but it also has a story so it’s not just FX like some sci-fi movies. Hot chicks flashing out, what’s not to like!” — characterdefects

• “Earth ain’t so easy for these space habitat gamers and the multiverse repairman who must send them home. Smart, fun, campy, original, out-of-this-world entertainment .” — Ruby G.

• “Quirky and trippy and destined to be a cult classic. I got high and laughed my ass off.”  JiGI

• “Intermate delivers an original twist by having the games the girls are playing end in a psychedelic/orgasmic “flashout”, which not only makes them very popular with earthmen they encounter, but threatens the very existence of the multiverse itself. Intermate can’t compete with effects-heavy sci fi blockbusters (though the ‘flashouts’ effects here are pretty cool), but small indy films like this can make up for it with unexpected originality and campy humor.” — bodhidot
